1 On April 21, 2005, the HP Houston Business Application Performance lab in Houston, TX, received certification based on the results of a two-tier SAP SD Standard Application Benchmark on a ProLiant DL585 server supporting 1,772 SAP SD Benchmark users (Certification number 2005017). The benchmark was performed with SAP R/3 Enterprise 4.70 (64-bit) software running Microsoft® Windows® Server 2003 Enterprise Edition (64-bit) and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition (32-bit). The ProLiant DL585 server was configured as an SMP 4-way (4 processors / 8 cores / 8 threads) with four AMD Opteron™ 875 series Dual-core processors running at 2.2-GHz with 128 KB L1 cache and 1MB L2 cache, and 32 GB Advanced ECC PC3200 DDR SDRAM. The ProLiant DL585 results achieved a number one overall four-processor performance result of 1,772 SAP SD Benchmark users, 8,900 SAPS, and 178,000 fully processed order line items/hour. Note: The IBM eServer xSeries 366, the IBM server that compares to the ProLiant DL580 G3, has a posted result of 1,020 SAP SD Benchmark users achieved with single core processors on the two-tier SAP SD Standard Application Benchmark. The IBM eServer xSeries 366 Model 8863-2RU (Certification number 005016) was configured as an SMP 4-way (4 processors / 4 cores / 8 threads) with four 3.66-GHz Intel Xeon single core processors with 1 MB L2 cache. The IBM eServer xSeries 366 was running SAP R/3 Enterprise 4.70 (64-bit) with Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition (64-bit) operating system and DB2 UDB 8.2 (64-bit) database. The IBM x366 achieved 1,020 SAP SD Benchmark users, equivalent to a throughput of 102,330 fully processed order line items/hour. The ProLiant DL585 server was equipped with four AMD Opteron™ Model 880 Dual-Core processors (2.4 GHz, 1 MB L2 per core). The server was configured with 320 ? 36.4 GB 15K hard drives for the database files and 56 ? 36.4 GB 15K hard drives for the transaction log files, and 2 ? 36.4 GB 15K SCSI hard disk drives for the Exchange files, operating systems and Active Directory files.
